Meet Dr. Ericka Flood
Unique Approach to Quality Care Background and Mission
Dr. Ericka Flood is a board-certified physician specializing in primary care, obesity medicine, and clinical lipidology. She provides personalized, precision-focused specialty care for patients in Ascension Parish and the Greater Baton Rouge area through a relationship-based, membership-style practice.
Dr. Ericka Flood’s passion for medicine began early in life. At just eight years old, she was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes—a moment that profoundly shaped her understanding of health,
resilience, and compassion. Managing daily insulin injections and navigating childhood with a chronic illness gave Dr. Flood firsthand insight into the physical and emotional challenges
patients face. What once made her feel different ultimately inspired her life’s work: empowering others to take control of their health with confidence and dignity.
A native of Ascension Parish and a graduate of St. Amant High School, Dr. Flood pursued her calling in healthcare with determination and heart. She earned her medical degree from St.
Christopher School of Medicine near London, UK where she trained alongside her husband, Dr. Jarrett Flood. Though their medical education took them abroad, their commitment to serving their community brought them back home to south Louisiana.
Dr. Flood is board certified in three disciplines: Family Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Clinical Lipidology, reflecting her comprehensive and metabolic-focused expertise. She previously founded and led Flood Family Medical Center in Prairieville, where she built a practice known for strong patient relationships and personalized care. Her approach to medicine is rooted in empathy, prevention, and individualized treatment. Dedicated to advancing modern, patient-centered care, Dr. Flood is currently completing certification in Personalized Medicine through the University of South Florida’s Morsani School of Medicine, along with advanced training in peptide therapies through the SSRP Institute.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Flood is a devoted wife and mother to two children, Jacob and Giulia. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and caring for her horses, Duchess, a black Percheron–Quarter Horse cross, and Lightning, a Paint Quarter Horse. She also shares her home with five dogs—including two sibling Siberian Huskies, a Great Pyrenees, a Rottweiler mix, and a Labrador Retriever—which further illuminate her love for animals and humans alike.
